How long until my subdomain is live?

Usually within 15 minutes. It publishes automatically. To help us confirm it is yours, email [email protected] from the address shown on your portfolio (no code needed). If we do not hear from you within a day, we remove the subdomain. A maintainer also reviews published subdomains and may remove any that break the rules.

Why was my subdomain removed?

We review subdomains after they publish and remove ones that break the Terms, such as impersonation, phishing, or illegal content.

My subdomain shows “404” or a host error page

You probably have not added the custom domain in your host’s dashboard yet. DNS alone is not enough. The host also needs to know it should answer for your subdomain.

• Vercel → Settings → Domains

It says the site is “not secure” or shows an HTTPS warning

SSL certificates are issued automatically by your host after DNS is detected, but the first one can take up to an hour. Wait, then reload. On GitHub Pages, also tick Enforce HTTPS once it is available.

The subdomain does not load at all

• DNS can take a few minutes to spread. Try again after 10 minutes.
• Make sure your portfolio URL itself works. If the host site is down, the subdomain will be down too.
• Clear your browser cache or try a private window.

I changed my host and my subdomain stopped working

Your CNAME target changed, so we need to update the record. Email [email protected] with your subdomain and the new target.

Can I use my Canva site?

No. Free Canva cannot use a custom domain. See Using Canva for free alternatives.

Can I get email at my subdomain?

No. This service only creates web (DNS) records. It does not provide mailboxes.

I want a different subdomain, or to remove mine

Email [email protected] with the current and desired name, or [email protected] to remove your subdomain. Note that names that are released can be taken by someone else later.

My request was rejected

Common reasons: the subdomain is reserved, the target host is not supported, the name appears to impersonate someone, or we could not confirm the portfolio is yours. You can fix the issue and submit again.
